I’m going on a field trip
The road to becoming a geologist is paved with field trips.
I have been dreading the next one, primarily because it’s 10 days of mapping in
the mountains. Don’t get me wrong, I have no problems with camping, I love the
outdoors as much as the next geologist. The part that scares me the most are
the evening seminars where we have to give presentations and answer questions
based on our findings. Eeeek! I wish I was confident but I struggle with it and
these situations expose this weakness.
However, I recently watched a movie that
reminded me that life is a blessing and I need to appreciate every moment. I’m
about to spend 10 days in the beautiful outdoors. I will wake up each day slap
bang in the middle of glorious mountains formed by God. Looking at it this way,
I’m a little more excited about the trip. I guess it won’t be bad at all. I’ll
hopefully learn a lot and maybe become a better geologist. So, I’m putting the
success of this trip in the Lord’s hands. It will be good. I guess the lesson
this week is not to have a negative outlook on what could or will be a
beautiful experience.
I’ll let you know how it goes J
PS I’m praying for you.
